At this point, we all had our hair and makeup done. I put my dress on. Boy do I love it. Do you remember the episode of Friends where the girls all got dressed up in wedding gowns and just watched tv and hung out? That’s what I’d like to do with my gown. I will likely never wear it again, but I felt like a princess and it was so fun to dress up.

I digress. We sent the bridesmaids to a different area of the locker room so that we could bring out Abby’s dress. At this point the photographer and videographer had arrived. The lighting in the locker room is so good that we were tipped off to hang it in the window with the beautiful view behind the dress for a picture.

She also took the flat lie photos of all of the printed materials and rings and veils.

Now it was time for Abby to get into her dress. This is a memory I will cherish forever. Helping your daughter with the buttons on her wedding dress is something you dream of almost as much as a young girl dreams of her own wedding. The compilation of shopping for the dress, saving for the dress, the alterations, etc. all came together!

She gave me the sweetest, most thoughtful gift. She had a water color made of me on my wedding day in 1996, my mom on her wedding day in 1965.
Once Abby was in her dress her bridesmaids came out and the girls were all so sweet and oohed and awed over her. They took lots of pictures together and enjoyed the moment.
I’ll leave it here for today!!! More to come…
