This past weekend, my sisters and fabulous friends threw Abby the most wonderful bridal shower, a celebration filled with joy and laughter. Every detail was so perfectly curated, reflecting Abby’s personality and style. The shower invitation was absolutely precious, featuring beautiful floral designs that hinted at the theme of the day. And that theme continued the minute we walked through the door. We were greeted by a welcome sign that coordinated seamlessly with the invitations.

On the entry table were fun cards, each designed to create a personal touch for the special day. One card invited guests to write heartfelt advice to the bride, while another encouraged them to guess fun facts and experiences about Abby and Jake, adding an interactive element to the festivities. Also on the entry table were quilt squares, each one waiting for a special note from every guest who attended, ensuring that their sentiments would be woven into the fabric of the celebration. Abby, of course, was completely unaware that I had made her a double wedding ring quilt and had requested a guest signature quilt that I had made for 3 recent brides. This will be very different though and it promises to be a wonderful keepsake filled with memories, love, and laughter. However, I did tell her that she shouldn’t count on it being put together anytime soon,

The flowers were just incredible. Seriously, they were all over the place! The centerpiece was the island in the kitchen, decked out with a huge floral arrangement and the most jaw-dropping charcuterie spread you could ever imagine. My friend Shelly totally has a knack for food. She can turn any dish into a stunning work of art!

There was this super fun mimosa bar that totally nailed the bubbles vibe. You could pick your favorite juice, or you could be like some of my friends and just go for the mimosa without any juice! 😉

In the living room on an easel stood a beautiful painting that my friend Karen created for Abby and Jake. It is the clock tower at Southern Hills Country Club where they will have their reception. The time on the clock is set to 4:00 which is the time of the wedding. I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry when Abby told me she didn’t know how to read a clock. This generation! They can’t read clocks or cursive. But I digress…

After we visited with each other and snacked on the yummy food, Abby opened her gifts. I am blown away by the generosity of so many friends. She has chosen the most beautiful place settings and I can’t wait to be invited for dinner! One surprise gift was from her paternal grandmother who was unable to attend due to a recent surgery. She surprised Abby with a beautiful diamond drop. The diamond was Abby’s great grandmother’s. She passed away suddenly in her 40s. Her husband saved it and when Daniel’s mom was married that stone was used in her wedding ring. She wore that ring for 20 years until she got an upgrade, at which point she turned it into a diamond drop and wore it around her neck. The diamond is nearly 100 years old and now on its third generation and can continue to be passed down. It was a very special moment. We recorded Abby opening it so Grandma could see.

And the big surprise of the day was as the guests were leaving, there was an antique flower truck parked out front. Each guest was allowed to make a bouquet to take home with them. It was really so neat and so special. I know it was for my daughter, so I am probably biased, but it was the best shower I recall going to probably ever. Every detail was absolutely perfect. I am so grateful for a tribe who has celebrated my girl so well.
